Sisters Help "Get On the Bus"
For the past few years, Sr. Mary Lynn Leiderbach has added a hat to her habit and appealed to parishoners at St. Paschal Baylon in Thousand Oaks for donations. They have generously supported Get on the Bus, a program that takes children to see their incarcerated parents for Mother's Day or Father's Day.
This year, the Sisters of Notre Dame expanded their involvement with the program by increasing fundraising efforts in parishes where they work. Sisters living at Notre Dame Center collaborated with Our Lady of Grace parish in Encino, which sponsored a bus and raised funds. The sisters donated their Lenten soup money, adopted children in prayer, and created unique handmade name tages for the children and their chaperones.
