Dear Friends,

Thank you for partnering with us to bring God’s goodness and provident care to many in need at home and abroad.  Your generosity is highly appreciated because it is through your kindness that the Sisters of Notre Dame are able to make a significant impact on our world.

Together, we have been able to make a difference and improve the quality of life by:

• Supporting the “Get on the Bus” program in Southern California that brings children to visit their incarcerated parents on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day;
• Working hand-in-hand with Project Achieve to feed the homeless in Los Angeles County;
• Joining the Los Angeles Ministry Project in offering English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to immigrant families in inner-city Los Angeles who yearn for a better livelihood;
• Supporting a shelter that is the only one of its kind in the country devoted to protecting victims of human trafficking; and
• Accomplishing our goal of providing educational opportunities and a better future to a generation of youngsters in remote villages in Africa.

It was over 80 years ago—in August 1924—that the first Sisters of Notre Dame came to California.  Today, there are 59 sisters of the California Province serving the United States, Uganda and Italy.  We continue to strive to meet the needs of our ministries and our community.  What are some of the immediate Life and Ministry needs? 

It is essential that we:

• Support our active sisters as they continue their ministry activities in the U.S. and overseas,
• Complete the refurbishing of the Health Care Center where we care for our dear sisters who are elderly or sick,
• Provide wellness activities for our retired sisters, and
• Explore alternative energy technologies to reduce expenses and increase sustainability in our program sites.

Our collective commitment will have a positive impact in a world that hungers for hope.  Please be assured that you and all of our donors are remembered in the daily prayers of the sisters around the world.  If you have a special intention, please contact us so that we can share your concern with our retired sisters whose special ministry is intercessory prayer.
