A Reminder About IRA Gift Transfers

In October, Congress passed and President Bush signed into law the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. In Sec. 205 of Division C of the bill, provisions of the Pension Protection Act of 2006 will continue in 2008 and through 2009. This will allow tax-free contributions from IRAs up to $100,000 for those age 70-1/2 and older.

If you wish to include the Sisters of Notre Dame of Los Angeles in your year-end contributions and planned giving, please consult with your IRA custodian or financial adviser. The Sisters of Notre Dame IRS Tax ID Number is 95-2005867.

Contributions support Life and Ministry activities and projects, including:
· Our work in the missions in California and Africa
· Educational, spiritual and leadership opportunities for youth and adults
· Our inner city work with the poor and marginalized through Julie Fund
· Care for our retired, elderly and infirm Sisters of Notre Dame
· Upkeep and improvement of our facilities and programs.

Please be assured that the Sisters of Notre Dame are deeply thankful for your support and that we remain good stewards of your generosity. Our mission to helping others is shown not only by a presence and ministry in economically deprived areas, but also by the education of young people who can learn to bring about a world of peace, justice and respect. Community support—especially from our friends, neighbors, alumni, current students and their parents—is so important in order for us to continue our work.

We pray you will continue to help make a difference in the community and the world by supporting the Sisters of Notre Dame.
