New Icon of Hilligonde Wolbring

Hilligonde Wolbring is presented in the frontal position as an eminent teacher and embodiment of the charism and tradition of the Sisters of Notre Dame. She holds a small loaf of bread and shelters orphans with her other hand, representing a significant direction of apostolic charity. The Mother of God, significant to Hilligonde, is an icon within the icon, because of the closeness of their relationship.

Prayer

Hilligonde Wolbring
your gift to Church and to the world
was compassion and caring love
marked by a deep trust in God's provident care.
Instill in us this same love
that we may provide hearth and home
for the vulnerable and poor of our world. Amen.
